New Year’s Day 2016

Today my friend Dan and I saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I had fun. There were lots of fights and space battles, and we got to see Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Princess Leia again. I’d seen the first two Star Wars movies, and maybe the third, but I skipped the next few. Still, I was able to follow the story. It sort of made me want to go back and see the earlier ones.

I also thought about doing a movie arraying the First Order (the successor to the Galactic Empire), Sauron and the evil forces of Middle Earth, and Voldemort and his Death Eaters against Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia and the Rebel Alliance, Gandalf, Aragorn, the elves, and the hobbits, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, in one nine-hour movie to finally settle the whole good versus evil thing.

There might be a few licensing issues with this plan. But I’d pay to see it.
